Techniques
This is an occasionally updated page with details of interesting techniques
which may be of interest to other silversmiths and an explanation of some of the
terms used on the rest of the site.
Avoiding fire stain: Chris' low cost,
foot operated air brush for applying Pripp's flux. Firestain is a copper oxide
which forms on silver when you heat it. It can only be removed by sanding and
grinding once it has formed, but can be prevented to some extent using a special
flux, more detail of this can be found on www.ganoksin.com. |
